Different styles of loft conversions
Here you will find the different styles of loft conversions to help identify the best loft conversion type for you.

roof lights / velux
The most cost effective loft conversion is placing windows in the existing slope of the roof. We would also look at strengthening the floor, insulation and access to the loft. This option usually requires no planning permission.
side dormer
Side dormers help to increase head height for houses which have a hipped roof where the access point to the loft is located under the hip.
single dormer
Single dormers can add extra volume and head height to your loft. Single dormers are especially favoured by planners in
conservation areas. Two dormers can be added to create symmetry and create extra space if planning permits.
hip to gable
Those with a hipped roof can also consider utilising a hip to gable conversion. This involves replacing one or more of the hip beams with a gable wall. This then allows for the roof to be extended over these gables which creates the extra space with full headroom.
full width dormer
A full width dormer can really transform your loft by maximising the space to create a completely new feel. Dormas in general are usually added to the rear of the property.
l shape dormer
L shape dormers are usually suitable on properties with an addition to the rear, such as Victorian houses. These dormers can create a unique space and dramtically increase the amount of additional space.
